Save money and pay less than Peloton prices with cheaper indoor exercise bikes

If you are committed to staying fit and healthy, however, technology is on your side. Peloton is the hottest name in fitness tech today, but the prices can be a stopper. Sophisticated workout stations and fitness equipment aren’t just for gyms and studios. There are plenty of exercise and fitness options priced right for home use, from interactive treadmills to fitness watches. There are also tons of discounts on fitness equipment, including the best Peloton alternatives, without the hefty price tags. Most of the alternates we found either come with a one-year subscription to iFit virtual home fitness workouts or are compatible with iFit so you can buy a membership separately.

Peloton revolutionized home exercise bikes and treadmills and brought them into the 21st century with interactive workouts, coaching, and classes on the displayed and played on home machines via Wi-Fi. You no longer have to drag yourself to the gym for your spin class or let bad weather get in your way. With a few taps on a Peloton, you’re connected with live fitness instructors in New York City and sweating your behind off. Exercising with motivating live instructors is the reason why high-profile owners like John Legere, Hugh Jackman, and even David Beckham can’t say enough good things about them.

But all those fancy features come with a hefty price tag: the Peloton bike starts at a little over $2,000, and the treadmill a whopping $4,000 or more. Even the most dedicated fitness junkies among us working on an average salary might have trouble parting with that for all of our equipment. Luckily for the rest of us, there are many more affordable options out there. We found money-saying Peloton alternatives starting at just under $200.

NordicTrack Commercial S22i Studio Cycle — $1,999

While not much cheaper than the Peloton, the NordicTrack Commercial S22i Studio Cycle is probably the best option when it comes to comparable feature sets — they’re practically the same. The S22i has a screen that is all but the same size as the Peloton. Still, the capability for instructors to adjust your incline and resistance for you (you have to do it yourself with the Peloton) makes it a better option if you’re looking to stay more focused on your workouts. NordicTrack also includes a one-year membership to these workouts in the purchase price of the S22i, which is another advantage.

What is iFit?

iFit is an online fitness program with personalized virtual coaching, virtual studio classes, and destination workouts. iFit memberships cost $15 per month for individuals and $33 per month for families of up to 5 people. You can use iFit workouts with a smartphone or tablet with any cardiovascular fitness equipment, but many of the exercise bikes that are iFit compatible can connect with iFit and automatically adjust setting such as resistance, speed, and incline to vary workout intensity.

Icon Fitness and Health, the company that owns iFit, also is the parent company of NordicTrack, ProForm, Freemotion, Weider, Weslo, Gold’s Gym, and others.
